تَجاوَزَmay pardon اللَهُGod عَنّاus
تَجاوَزَ اللَهُ عَنّا
How near death is to us!
How near is death to us
May God pardon us.
God has passed over us
كَأَنَّهُas though it قَدalready سَقاناgave us drink
كَأَنَّهُ قَد سَقانا
بِكَأسِهِwith its cup حَيثُwherever كُنّاwe were
بِكَأسِهِ حَيثُ كُنّا
As though it had already given us drink
As though He made us drink
From its cup, wherever we were.
From His cup where we were
