أَجدادُهُhis forefathers عَلَّموهُtaught him فيin طُفولَتِهِhis childhood
أَجدادُهُ عَلَّموهُ في طُفولَتِهِ
قَتلَslaying العِدىthe foes وَاِكتِسابَand earning الحَمدِpraise بِالجودِthrough generosity
قَتلَ العِدى وَاِكتِسابَ الحَمدِ بِالجودِ
His forefathers taught him in his childhood
His ancestors taught him in his childhood
To slay foes and earn praise through generosity.
To kill the enemy and gain praise through munificence
فَاِجتَثَّso he uprooted دابِرَthe last remnant of أَعداءٍenemies ذَويpossessed of حَسَدٍenvy
فَاِجتَثَّ دابِرَ أَعداءٍ ذَوي حَسَدٍ
وَفيand in السَماحَةِliberality أَفنىhe exhausted كُلَّevery مَوجودِpossession
وَفي السَماحَةِ أَفنى كُلَّ مَوجودِ
So he uprooted the last remnant of envious enemies,
So he uprooted the fortunes of envious foes
And in his liberality he spent all he possessed.
And in his generosity spent all he possessed
