كَفاكَis enough for you عَنِabout الدُنياthe world الذَميمَةِblameworthy مَخبَراًas testimony
كَفاكَ عَنِ الدُنيا الذَميمَةِ مَخبَراً
غِنىthe wealth باخِليهاits misers وَافتِقارِand the poverty كِرامِهاits generous people
غِنى باخِليها وَافتِقارِ كِرامِها
Enough testimony for you about this blameworthy world is
Enough of telling me about this base world,
the wealth of its misers and the poverty of its generous people,
Of the greed of its wealthy and the poverty of its nobles,
وَأَنَّand that رِجالَmen النَفعِbenefit تَحتَbeneath مَداسِهاits tread
وَأَنَّ رِجالَ النَفعِ تَحتَ مَداسِها
وَأَنَّand that رِجالَmen الضُرِّharm فَوقَatop سَنامِهاits hump
وَأَنَّ رِجالَ الضُرِّ فَوقَ سَنامِها
and that men who bring benefit are beneath its tread,
And that the men of merit are under its feet,
and that men who bring harm are atop its hump.
While the men of evil are over its summits.
