أَحيَيتَ ذِكراً طَيِّباً نَشرُهُ

أَحيَيتَ ذِكراً طَيِّباً نَشرُهُ

تَفصيلُهُ أَذكى مِنَ المُجمَلِ

تَفصيلُهُ أَذكى مِنَ المُجمَلِ

You have revived a remembrance whose fragrance is sweet;

its detailed telling is more fragrant than the summary.

وَأَنتَ فَرعٌ طَيِّبٌ أَصلُهُ

وَأَنتَ فَرعٌ طَيِّبٌ أَصلُهُ

لا بُدَّ لِلآخِرِ مِن أَوَّلِ

لا بُدَّ لِلآخِرِ مِن أَوَّلِ

And you are a branch whose root is good;

the last must have a first.
