God be the judge between me and my lady.
She has shown me rejection and weariness.

She forgives no fault if I do wrong, nor
accepts my excuse or my willingness to oblige.
مَنَحتُهاI gave her مُهجَتيmy heart’s blood وَخالِصَتيand my purest affection
فَكانَso was هِجرانُهاher desertion مُكافاتيmy reward
I gave her my heart’s blood and my purest affection,
so her desertion was my reward.
