رَضيتُI have accepted لِنَفسيfor myself بِغَيرِwith something other than الرِضاcontentment
وَكُلٌّand each سَيُجزىwill be repaid بِماfor what أَقرَضاhe has lent
I have accepted for myself something other than contentment,
and each will be repaid for what he has lent.
بُليتُI have been tried بِدارٍby an abode رَأَيتُI have seen الحَكيمَthe sage
لِزَهرَتِهاof its bloom قالِياًloathing مُعرِضاturning away
I have been tried by an abode where I have seen the sage
loathing its bloom and turning away.
سَيَمضيwill pass الَّذيthat which هُوَit مُستَقبِلٌyet to come
مُضِيَّlike the passing of الَّذيthat which مَرَّpassed بيby me فَاِنقَضىand then ended
What lies ahead will pass,
as did what passed me by and came to an end.
وَإِنّاand indeed we لَفيsurely in مَنزِلٍan abode لَمnot نَزَلwe have ceased
نَراهُwe regard it حَقيقاًworthy بِأَنof being يُرفَضاcast aside
And indeed we are in an abode we have never ceased
to regard as worthy of being cast aside.

God has decreed that we perish within it;
to Him be praise, in gratitude for what He has decreed.
