O dwellers of the graves, I have come to you seeking tidings.

And behold, your company is deaf and mute.

Indeed, a man who remembers the Resurrection and fears it

is surely more fortunate and wiser than one who does not fear it.

O greedy man, do you not see

the landmarks of your life fading every day?

Assigned to you—may you have no father!—since you were created

is an angel who counts against you every breath you take.

Then, when the term allotted you has ended

and passed, you have no further stay beyond that.
