    Behold, to God all affairs return.

    You, my world, are nothing but delusion.

    Indeed, a man whose life is serene

    Is surely heedless of what the graves conceal.

    مِنها خُلِقنا وَإِلَيها نَحور

    We are the earth's sons and its inhabitants;

    From it we were created, and to it we return.

    No, by Him whose servant I have become,

    No servant's joy has ever lasted in this world.

    How long will you keep craving

    Abundance, when a little of it would suffice you?

    فَعِندَكَ الحَظُّ الجَزيلُ الكَثير

    If you know God, be content with Him;

    For yours is a rich and abundant share.

    Blessed is God, and glory be to Him.

    Whoever does not know God—that is the poor one.
