وَاللَهِby God رَبِّكَyour Lord إِنَّنيindeed I
وَاللَهِ رَبِّكَ إِنَّني
لَأُجِلُّI truly honor وَجهَكَyour face عَنabove فِعالِكyour deeds
لَأُجِلُّ وَجهَكَ عَن فِعالِك
By God—your Lord—indeed I
By God, your Lord, indeed I
Hold your face too noble for your conduct.
truly hold your face too noble for your deeds.
لَوif كانَwere فِعلُكَyour conduct مِثلَlike وَجهِface
لَو كانَ فِعلُكَ مِثلَ وَجهِ
كَof yours كُنتُI would be مُكتَفياًcontent بِذَلِكwith that
كَ كُنتُ مُكتَفياً بِذَلِك
If your conduct were like your face,
If your conduct were like that face
I would have been content with that.
of yours, I would be content with that.
