الحَمدُpraise لِلَّهِto God الواحِدِthe One الصَمَدِthe Self-Sufficient
الحَمدُ لِلَّهِ الواحِدِ الصَمَدِ
هُوَHe الَّذيthe One who لَمdid not يولَدbe begotten وَلَمand did not يَلِدِbeget
هُوَ الَّذي لَم يولَد وَلَم يَلِدِ
Praise be to God, the One, the Self-Sufficient.
He is the One who was not begotten and did not beget.
عَلَيهِupon Him أَرزاقُناour sustenance فَلَيسَso there is no مَعَwith الbeginning of 'God' (split across lines)
عَلَيهِ أَرزاقُنا فَلَيسَ مَعَ ال
لَهِcompletion of 'God' (split across lines) بِناfor us حاجَةٌa need إِلىof أَحَدِanyone
لَهِ بِنا حاجَةٌ إِلى أَحَدِ
Our sustenance rests with Him, so with God
we have no need of anyone.
