لَيتَwould that شِعريmy knowledge فَإِنَّنيfor indeed I لَستُI am not أَدريI know
أَيُّwhich يَومٍday يَكونُwill be آخِرَthe last of عُمريmy life
Would that I knew, for I do not know
Which day will be the last of my life,
وَبِأَيِّand in which البِلادِthe lands تُقبَضُwill be taken روحيmy soul
وَبِأَيِّand in which البِقاعِthe places يُحفَرُwill be dug قَبريmy grave
And in which land my soul will be taken,
And in which place my grave will be dug.
