وَماand not زِلتُI ceased تُنعىyour death is announced بِرَجمِthrough guesswork الظُنونِconjectures
وَما زِلتُ تُنعى بِرَجمِ الظُنونِ
وَقَدand already جاءَتِhas come النَعيَةُthe death notice الصادِقَةُtruthful
وَقَد جاءَتِ النَعيَةُ الصادِقَةُ
And still your death was announced through conjecture;
Still you are decried by the casting of suspicions,
and now the true tidings of death have come.
Yet the truthful obituary has now arrived.
