وَلَيسَت أَيادي الناسِ عِندي غَنيمَةً

وَلَيسَت أَيادي الناسِ عِندي غَنيمَةً

وَرُبَّ يَدٍ عِندي أَشَدُّ مِنَ الأَسرِ

وَرُبَّ يَدٍ عِندي أَشَدُّ مِنَ الأَسرِ

And people's favors are no gain to me;

The hands of men are no spoils for me,

And many a favor is harsher to me than captivity.

Though oft a hand to me brings grievous harm.
