إِذاif ماemphatic particle الشَيءُthe thing فاتَhas passed فَخَلَّthen let go عَنهُof it
إِذا ما الشَيءُ فاتَ فَخَلَّ عَنهُ
وَلاand do not تَشهَدtestify بِماto what لَمnot (past negation) تَستَبِنهُascertain it clearly
وَلا تَشهَد بِما لَم تَستَبِنهُ
If something has passed you by, let it go.
And do not testify to what you have not clearly ascertained.
تَوَسَّطtake the middle course كُلَّevery رَأيٍopinion أَنتَyou فيهِin it
تَوَسَّط كُلَّ رَأيٍ أَنتَ فيهِ
وَخُذand grasp بِمَجامِعِat the meeting points of الطَرَفَينِthe two extremes مِنهُof it
وَخُذ بِمَجامِعِ الطَرَفَينِ مِنهُ
Take the middle course in every opinion you hold.
And grasp the points where its two extremes meet.
