سَكِرتَyou became intoxicated بِإِمرَةِwith the authority of السُلطانِthe sultan جِدّاًutterly
سَكِرتَ بِإِمرَةِ السُلطانِ جِدّاً
فَلَمso did not تَعرِفyou distinguish عَدُوُّكَyour enemy مِنfrom صَديقِكyour friend
فَلَم تَعرِف عَدُوُّكَ مِن صَديقِك
You are utterly drunk on the authority of the sultan,
You became utterly drunk on the sultan's authority,
So that you cannot tell your enemy from your friend.
so you did not distinguish your enemy from your friend.
رُوَيدَكَtake your time فيon طَريقٍa road سِرتُI traveled فيهاalong it
رُوَيدَكَ في طَريقٍ سِرتُ فيها
فَإِنَّfor indeed الحادِثاتِmisfortunes عَلىon طَريقِكyour path
فَإِنَّ الحادِثاتِ عَلى طَريقِك
Tread softly on a road I have traveled,
Take your time on a road I have traveled,
For calamities lie along your path.
for misfortunes lie along your path.
