هِيَsuch are الأَيّامُthe days وَالعِبَرُand the lessons
هِيَ الأَيّامُ وَالعِبَرُ
وَأَمرُand the decree of اللَهِGod يُنتَظَرُis awaited
وَأَمرُ اللَهِ يُنتَظَرُ
Such are the days, and the lessons they bear;
Such are the days and their lessons.
and God’s decree is awaited.

أَتَيأَسُdo you despair أَنto تَرىyou see فَرَجاًrelief
أَتَيأَسُ أَن تَرى فَرَجاً
فَأَينَthen where اللَهُGod وَالقَدَرُand fate
فَأَينَ اللَهُ وَالقَدَرُ
Do you despair of seeing deliverance?
Do you despair of seeing relief?
Then where are God and destiny?
Then where are God and fate?
