إِيّاكَbeware مِنof كَذَبِlies الكَذوبِthe habitual liar وَإِفكِهِand his falsehood
فَلَرُبَّماfor often مَزَجَmixed اليَقينَcertainty بِشَكِّهِwith his doubt
Beware the liar’s lies and his fabrications;
Beware of the habitual liar's lies and his falsehood.
for often he mingles certainty with his doubt.
For often he mixes certainty with his doubt.
وَلَرُبَّماand often ضَحِكَlaughed الكَذوبُthe habitual liar تَكَلُّفاًaffectedly
وَبَكىand wept مِنَover الشَيءِthe thing الَّذيthat لَمdid not يُبكِهِmake him weep
And often the liar laughs with studied affectation,
And often the liar laughs for show,
and weeps over what has given him no cause to weep.
and weeps over something that did not move him to tears.
وَلَرُبَّماand often صَمَتَkept silent الكَذوبُthe habitual liar تَخَلُّقاًas an affectation
وَشَكىand complained مِنَof الشَيءِthe thing الَّذيthat لَمdid not يُشكِهِcause him to complain
And often the liar falls silent, feigning good character,
And often the liar keeps silent as a pose,
and complains of what has given him no cause to complain.
and complains of something that gave him no cause to complain.
وَلَرُبَّماand often كَذَبَlied اِمرُؤٌa person بِكَلامِهِthrough his speech
وَبِصَمتِهِand through his silence وَبُكائِهِand through his weeping وَبِضِحكِهِand through his laughter
And often a man lies through his words,
And often a person lies through his speech,
and through his silence, his weeping, and his laughter.
and through his silence, and through his weeping, and through his laughter.
