I marvel at the Fire: the one who fears it has fallen asleep.

And at the Garden of Eternity: the one who desires it has fallen asleep.

I marvel at the Garden, for which longing was awakened by

God, while its seeker has fallen asleep.

Indeed, we are in darkness from love for

this world, and the pious are its stars.

For whoever finds the world too narrow for his subsistence,

its paths close in upon his soul.

For whoever accepts life's vicissitudes, submissive to him is the

earth, and its shoulders soften for him.

And a person, as long as he lives, is never

free of some need he seeks to meet.

What a wonder the world is! Thus it was created:

Its praiser is truthful, and so is its fault-finder.
