أُمسيI reach evening وَأُصبِحُand I reach morning مِنbecause of تَذَكُّرِكُمremembering you (plural)
وَكَأَنَّand as though بيin me طَرفاًa touch مِنَof المَسِّmadness or possession
I pass my evenings and mornings remembering you,
Daybreak and dusk I'm reminded of you all
And it is as though I have a touch of madness.
It's as if my eyelid's been touched by illness
وَكَأَنَّنيand as though I مِمّاfrom what تَطاوَلَhas long persisted بيin me
مِنكَfrom you السَقامُthe sickness طُليتُI was coated بِالوَرسِwith wars (a yellow dye)
And it is as though, from what has long afflicted me—
It's as if the sickness you've inflicted on me
The sickness caused by you—I have been coated with yellow wars dye.
Has made me gaunt, my body wasted
وَلَقَدand indeed بَرِمتُI grew weary مِنَof الحَياةِlife لِماbecause of what
ضَمَّنتَنيyou made me bear وَعَرَضتَand you exposed مِنof نَفسيmy soul
And indeed, I have grown weary of life because of what
Truly, I'm weary of life because of what
You made me bear, and what you laid bare of my soul.
You've made me suffer, what you've put me through
