وَالدَهرُ يُسرِعُ في بَلاه
A man's hopes deceive him,
Man is deceived by his desires,
And time hastens his decay.
And time hastens his ruin.

O you who stray, do not be
O you who are led astray, do not be
One whom his desire has enslaved.
One whose passion enslaves him.

And know that man is held
Know that man will surely be disgraced
In pledge for what his hands have earned.
By what his hands have earned.

How many a brother you do not see
Moving about among those you see.
Has power over who you see!

He had been deluded about the day
He was blinded by his days,
Of his death, until it came to him.
Until death came to him.

People are in their heedlessness,
People are heedless,
And death's millstone turns.
And death’s circling is their pasture.

So praise be to God, who
So praise be to God, who remains
Abides, while all besides Him perish.
While all else perishes.
