لاسوقَةٌ يَبقى وَلا مَلِكُ
Death is shared by all creation.
Death amongst people is common
No commoner survives, nor any king.
No ruler remains nor king

أَغنى عَنِ الأَملاكِ ما مَلَكوا
Those with little were no worse off, nor
Of no use to the poor was their paucity
Did what kings possessed avail them.
Nor could the kings their riches spare

Their path in death did not differ;
In death their paths were no different
No—rather, they followed a single path.
Indeed one path they all did share
