    I lay sleepless, and drowsiness flew from my eye.

    And the night-talkers slept and offered no comfort.

    O God's trusted one, your protection is the best protection.

    Within it, you wear a garment of piety.

    وَأَنتَ بِهِ تَسوسُ كَما تُساسُ

    You are governed from heaven with all goodness;

    And through it you govern, as you are governed.

    As though mankind had a spirit set within it—

    It has a body, and you are its head.

    O God's trusted one, imprisonment is hardship.

    And you have granted release—may no harm befall you.
