Sol 6.1

  1. الدهرُ منا في مديحكَ أفصحُ

    فعلامَ يُتعِبُ نفسَهُ من يمدحُ

    Time is more eloquent than we are in praising you.

    Why, then, does one who praises weary himself?

  2. أنت المُرشَّح للتي لا فوقها

    إن العظيم لمثلها يترشحُ

    You are the one marked out for the rank above which there is none;

    Indeed, the great man aspires to such a rank.
