أطلَعَ الدهرُ منكَ بدراً منيرا

أطلَعَ الدهرُ منكَ بدراً منيرا

ملأ السبعةَ الأقاليمَ نُورا

ملأ السبعةَ الأقاليمَ نُورا

Time has brought forth in you a radiant full moon,

Which has filled the seven climes with light.

وأتانا الزمانُ منكَ كمالاً

وأتانا الزمانُ منكَ كمالاً

لم تُشاهِد لهُ العصورُ نظيرا

لم تُشاهِد لهُ العصورُ نظيرا

And the age has brought us, in you, perfection

Whose like the ages have never seen.

أولٌ أنتَ في التقدُّم والسبـ

أولٌ أنتَ في التقدُّم والسبـ

ـقِ وإن كنتَ في الزمانِ أخيرا

ـقِ وإن كنتَ في الزمانِ أخيرا

You are first in eminence and precedence,

Though you are last in time.

ملأ اللَهُ كلَّ قلبٍ وعينٍ

ملأ اللَهُ كلَّ قلبٍ وعينٍ

نضرةً من كمالِكُم وسرورا

نضرةً من كمالِكُم وسرورا

God has filled every heart and eye

With radiance from your perfection, and joy.

أينَ منكَ الملوكُ عزماً وحزماً

أينَ منكَ الملوكُ عزماً وحزماً

وندى فائضاً وخيراً وخِيرا

وندى فائضاً وخيراً وخِيرا

How can kings compare with you in resolve and prudence,

In overflowing bounty, goodness, and nobility?

كنتَ في الغيبِ للخلافةِ أهلاً

كنتَ في الغيبِ للخلافةِ أهلاً

وخليقاً بنيلِها وجديرا

وخليقاً بنيلِها وجديرا

In the unseen, you were worthy of the caliphate,

And suited to attain it, and deserving of it.

شاءَ إسعادَنا الإلهُ تعالى

شاءَ إسعادَنا الإلهُ تعالى

يَومَ تفويضِه إليكَ الامورا

يَومَ تفويضِه إليكَ الامورا

God, exalted be He, willed our happiness

On the day He entrusted affairs to you.

إنما أنت رحمةُ اللَهِ عَمَّت

إنما أنت رحمةُ اللَهِ عَمَّت

ساكني الأرضَ منجداً ومغيرا

ساكني الأرضَ منجداً ومغيرا

You are none other than God's mercy, which has encompassed

Earth's inhabitants, in highlands and lowlands alike.

أوجدَ اللَه منكَ للدينِ عِزَّاً

أوجدَ اللَه منكَ للدينِ عِزَّاً

ومعيناً وناصِراً وظهيرا

ومعيناً وناصِراً وظهيرا

God has brought forth in you strength for the faith,

And a helper, a champion, and a supporter.

يا إمام الهدى ملأتَ جمالاً

يا إمام الهدى ملأتَ جمالاً

وجلالاً عُيُونَنَا والصُّدورا

وجلالاً عُيُونَنَا والصُّدورا

O Imam of guidance, you have filled with beauty

And majesty our eyes and breasts.

كل نورٍ للشمسِ والبدرِ يَبدُو

كل نورٍ للشمسِ والبدرِ يَبدُو

أنتَ أصلٌ لهُ ومِنكَ استعيرا

أنتَ أصلٌ لهُ ومِنكَ استعيرا

Every light that shines from the sun and full moon—

You are its source, and from you it was borrowed.

دُمتَ للدينِ عصمَةً وملاذاً

دُمتَ للدينِ عصمَةً وملاذاً

ولإعدائِهِ مُبيداً مُبيرا

ولإعدائِهِ مُبيداً مُبيرا

May you remain the faith's safeguard and refuge,

And an annihilator and destroyer of its enemies.
