عنat أمركمyour command يتصرفact الثقلانِhumankind and jinn
عن أمركم يتصرف الثقلانِ
وبنصركمand in aiding you يتعاقبُalternate الملوانِday and night
وبنصركم يتعاقبُ الملوانِ
At your command, the two weighty races—humankind and jinn—move;
At your command, humankind and jinn act,
and through your victory, the twin spans—day and night—alternate.
and day and night take turns in aiding you.
وبماand with what يسوءُgrieves عدوكمyour enemy ويسركمand delights you
وبما يسوءُ عدوكم ويسركم
تتحركُmove الأفلاكُthe celestial spheres فيin الدورانrotation
تتحركُ الأفلاكُ في الدوران
And through that which grieves your enemy and delights you,
And in ways that grieve your enemy and delight you,
the celestial spheres move in their revolutions.

جاهدتمyou strove فيin the cause of اللَهGod حقthe due measure of جهادهstriving for Him
جاهدتم في اللَه حق جهاده
ونهضتمand you arose الرجفانِtrembling والخفقانِand palpitations
ونهضتم الرجفانِ والخفقانِ
You strove for God with the striving due to Him,
You strove in God's cause with the striving due to Him,
and rose amid trembling and palpitations.

وغزاهمand assailed them الدينُthe faith الحنيفيupright and monotheistic الذيwhich
وغزاهم الدينُ الحنيفي الذي
كتبتَyou decreed الظهورُsupremacy لهfor it علىover الأديانِthe religions
كتبتَ الظهورُ له على الأديانِ
The Ḥanīf faith assailed them—the faith whose
And the upright monotheistic faith assailed them—the faith
triumph over all religions was decreed.
for which you decreed supremacy over the religions.
كتبَdecreed الإلهُGod لكمfor you فتوحاًconquests فيover العداthe foes
كتبَ الإلهُ لكم فتوحاً في العدا
هذاthis لهاfor them وسواهُand others besides it كالعنوانِlike a heading
هذا لها وسواهُ كالعنوانِ
God decreed conquests for you over the foes;
God decreed conquests for you over the foes;
this is one of them, and all besides it is like a title.
this victory and others are like a heading for them.
هذاthis مقامُthe station of المصطفىthe Chosen One ياO فوزَgood fortune منthe one who
هذا مقامُ المصطفى يا فوزَ من
حازَgained النيابةَthe role of deputy فيهِin it عنin place of حسانِHassan
حازَ النيابةَ فيهِ عن حسانِ
This is the Chosen One’s station—how blessed is he
This is the Chosen One's station—how fortunate is he
who attained therein succession to Ḥassān!
who has won the role of standing here in Hassan's stead.
منwhoever يعرفِknows الرحمنَthe All-Merciful حقاًtruly يعترفacknowledges
من يعرفِ الرحمنَ حقاً يعترف
بحقوقهِhis rights لخليفةِto the caliph of الرحمنِthe All-Merciful
بحقوقهِ لخليفةِ الرحمنِ
Whoever truly knows the All-Merciful will acknowledge
Whoever truly knows the All-Merciful acknowledges
the rights due to the All-Merciful’s caliph.
