مشى اللومُ في الدُنيا طَريداً مُشرَّداً

يَجوبُ بلادَ اللَهِ شَرقَاً ومَغرِبا

يَجوبُ بلادَ اللَهِ شَرقَاً ومَغرِبا

Blame wandered the world, banished and homeless,

Blame wandered the world exiled and banished,

roaming God's lands, east and west.

Roaming the lands of God both East and West.

فلمَّا أتى فاساً تَلَقَّاهُ أهلُها

فلمَّا أتى فاساً تَلَقَّاهُ أهلُها

وقالوا لهُ أهلاً وسهلاً ومرحبا

وقالوا لهُ أهلاً وسهلاً ومرحبا

Then, when it came to Fez, its people received it

When he came to Fes, its people welcomed him,

and said to it, “Welcome, be at ease, and greetings!”

Saying, "Welcome, at ease, and greetings to you."
