بِضَربٍ يُزيلُ الهامَ عَن سَكَناتِهِ

بِضَربٍ يُزيلُ الهامَ عَن سَكَناتِهِ

وَطَعنٍ كَتَشهاقِ العفاهم بالنَّهقِ

وَطَعنٍ كَتَشهاقِ العفاهم بالنَّهقِ

With blows that sweep heads from where they rest,

With blows that dislodge heads from their resting places,

With a blow that removes anxiety from its dwellings

and thrusts like the gasping intake of decrepit camels as they bray.

And thrusts like the gasping of wild asses as they bray.

And a stab like the panting of virgins in anguish
