O absent one, whose beauty

has risen to rule within the heart.
Has taken control of the heart altogether
افرطتyou have gone too far فيin هذاthis البعاthe separa-

د الا بعثت لنا سلاما
You have gone too far in this separa-
You were excessive in this distance

يا باخلا آباؤُه
قدindeed علمواthey taught الكرمgenerosity الكراماthe generous
قد علموا الكرم الكراما
O miser, whose forefathers
O stingy one, his fathers
have taught generosity to the generous!
Have known generosity and nobility
عطفاcompassion علىupon منone who فيكin love with you عنaway from
عطفا على من فيك عن
ذراتthe atoms of هذاthis الكونuniverse هاماwandered in love
ذرات هذا الكون هاما
Have compassion on one who, for love of you, away from
Have mercy on the one in you, particles
the atoms of this universe has wandered.
Of this universe are enthused
وارفقand be gentle بمنwith one who هوhe فيin هواlove of
وارفق بمن هو في هوا
كyou تراهyou see him لمnot يسمعhear ملاماreproach

And be gentle with one who is in love with
And be gentle with the one who is in your love
