بقدوم يوسف بشروا يعقوبه
فارتدand he returned منfrom كمدanguish السقامillness بصيراable to see
فارتد من كمد السقام بصيرا
They gave his Yaqub glad tidings of Yusuf’s arrival.
With Joseph's arrival, give Jacob the good news,
And from the anguish of illness, he regained his sight.
So he may recover from blindness and illness.
بشرتyou brought glad tidings ياO هذاthis البشيرthe herald عشيةone evening
بشرت يا هذا البشير عشية
فجزاكso may He reward you ربكyour Lord جنةParadise وحريراand silk
فجزاك ربك جنة وحريرا
You brought glad tidings, O herald, one evening.
O bearer of good news, you brought tidings one night,
So may your Lord reward you with Paradise and silk.
May your Lord reward you with Heaven and silk attire.
