فشفته برشف خمر لماها
The serpent of her tresses stung my heart.
The snake of separation bit my heart
So she healed it with a sip of the wine of her dusky lips.
So I healed it with a sip of wine's breath

وأعادت روحي براحة ثغر
سرماءthe secret of the water الحياةof life مازجmingled with ماهاits water
سرماء الحياة مازج ماها
And she restored my soul with a mouth’s wine:
And returned my soul with the comfort of lips
The secret of the water of life had mingled with its moisture.
Whose coolness mixes life's water
