جاء النسيم يعطر من محاضركم
فغابso became lost قلبيmy heart لفرطfrom the excess of الوجدrapture مذsince حضراit arrived
فغاب قلبي لفرط الوجد مذ حضرا
The breeze came wafting fragrance from your gatherings;
The breeze came perfuming from your dwellings,
so my heart was lost in overwhelming rapture the moment it arrived.
So my heart was lost in ecstasy when it arrived.
ناحlamented الحمامthe dove لنوحيbecause of my lament فيin محبتكمlove of you
ناح الحمام لنوحي في محبتكم
عطفاout of sympathy فطوقتهso I garlanded it منfrom ادمعيmy tears درراpearls
عطفا فطوقته من ادمعي دررا
The dove lamented at my lament for love of you,
The dove cooed my lament in love for you,
out of sympathy; so I garlanded it with pearls of my tears.
In sympathy I adorned it with my tearful pearls.
