The lamp of the messengers, father of lofty honors,

The refuge of creation, succor of the fallen.
Refuge of the universe, savior of the fallen

He dispelled the gloom cast by the pounding vicissitudes of time
تسامىrose aloft فيin سماthe heaven of العلياthe heights وضجتand clamored
تسامى في سما العليا وضجت
بمدحتهwith praise of him ملائكةangels الرفيعthe Exalted One
بمدحته ملائكة الرفيع
He rose aloft in the highest heaven, and a clamor arose
He rose to the highest heaven, and it roared
From the angels of the Exalted One, praising him.
With the angels' praises of his glory on high
أتاناhe came to us فيin ربيعRabīʿ فيin ربيعspring
أتانا في ربيع في ربيع
فكانand so he was لطرزهاfor its adornment عينthe very essence الربيعspring
فكان لطرزها عين الربيع
He came to us in Rabīʿ, in spring,
He came to us in spring, in spring
And for its adornment he was spring itself.
And so its character was the essence of spring
