The wise understand its symbols
بهin it لغريبناfor our stranger المعروفkindness فرضa duty
به لغريبنا المعروف فرض
وأولىand more deserving فيهin it منthan ذاكthat one القريبthe kinsman
وأولى فيه من ذاك القريب
In it, kindness to the stranger among us is a duty,
To strangers, kindness is obligatory through it
and the kinsman is more deserving of it than that stranger.
But one's own are more deserving of it
