دني الطبع ليس له وفاء

ولم ينفع به امر ونهي

One base by nature has no fidelity.

My innate nature has no loyalty

And neither command nor prohibition has availed with him.

And neither command nor prohibition benefit it

يعي في فهمه خيرا وشرا

يعي في فهمه خيرا وشرا

ولكن وعيه لاشك وعي

ولكن وعيه لاشك وعي

In his understanding, he discerns good and evil,

It comprehends good and evil in its understanding

Yet his understanding is, without doubt, pus.

But its comprehension is undoubtedly comprehension
