بعيد فطر لأعتاب الرسول لنا

عرائض قدمت في شكل تعييد

عرائض قدمت في شكل تعييد

On Eid al-Fitr, we have for the Messenger's thresholds

For the Prophet's feast we offered petitions,

Petitions presented in the form of Eid greetings,

In the form of greetings overflowing with longing and praise.

مشحونة بالرجا والمدح سلمها

مشحونة بالرجا والمدح سلمها

لنيل عطف بإعزاز وتأييد

لنيل عطف بإعزاز وتأييد

Laden with hope, and praise is their ladder

Entrust them to gain favor through honor and support,

To attain compassion, with honor and support.

For his sublime gate of giving is truly aloof from the flaw of restriction.

فباب إطلاقه العالي حقيقته

فباب إطلاقه العالي حقيقته

تنزهت في العطا عن عيب تقييد

تنزهت في العطا عن عيب تقييد

For the lofty gate of his boundless giving, in its essence,

We descended on his court in good faith,

Is free, in giving, of the blemish of restriction.

And turned away from the path of the appointment seekers and opportunists.

وقد نزلنا بحسن الظن ساحته

وقد نزلنا بحسن الظن ساحته

وأعرض السر عن أهل المواعيد

وأعرض السر عن أهل المواعيد

And we have indeed alighted in his courtyard with hopeful trust,

From him we await kindness and mercy,

And the inmost self has turned away from those who make promises.

On a feast of Eid, mending the heart of a servant.

منه نؤمل إحساناً ومرحمةً

منه نؤمل إحساناً ومرحمةً

بعيد فطرٍ وجبر القلب في العبد

بعيد فطرٍ وجبر القلب في العبد

From him we hope for kindness and mercy,

On Eid al-Fitr, and for the mending of the heart within the servant.
