O skittish gazelle of the ravine, I have had enough!
O gazelle of the graceful people, you have sufficed me
From my anguish over you, I have become like one dying.
I have become, because of my sorrow for you, self-sufficient

I melted from love's yearning, passionately enamored,
I have melted from the fervor of love and torment
And the burning pangs of abandonment seared me.
And the intensity of estrangement has overwhelmed me

And my heart seethes with flames.
And my heart boils with fire

Am like a stranger far from home.
Like a stranger, far away from the homeland

A mortal wound that shattered my body's strength.

The brownness of your eye has drowned me
They writhe like bright swords within my heart.

Away from its heaven, and my worlds grow dark.

You have exposed the reality of my torment
And my concealment revealed my innermost secret.

How often I lose my senses! You have strung tresses in chains,
How much feeling have the chains of your hair ensnared
Whose sting surpasses a serpent's bite.
Above the bite of the snake
