يا ربنا يا ارحم الراحمين

يا واهب الارزاق للعالمين
O our Lord, O most merciful of the merciful,
O our Lord, O the Most Merciful of the merciful
O giver of sustenance to all the worlds,

ياO مسبلOne who drapes السترthe veil علىover خلقهHis creation
يا مسبل الستر على خلقه
وكاشفاand remover of غمthe grief الضعيفthe weak الحزينthe sorrowful
وكاشفا غم الضعيف الحزين
O One who spreads a veil over His creation,
O You who covers His creation with veils
And removes the grief of the weak and sorrowful,
And relieves the sorrow of the weak and sad
ياO فارجreliever of الهمdistress بالطافهthrough His gentle favors
يا فارج الهم بالطافه
ياO منOne اليهto Him مفزعrefuge الخائفينthe fearful
يا من اليه مفزع الخائفين
O One who relieves distress through His gentle favors,
O You who dispels anxiety with His care
O One to whom the fearful turn for refuge,
O the refuge of the fearful
ياO رازقprovider for الطيرthe birds بفيفائهin His wilderness
يا رازق الطير بفيفائه
ياO راحماOne who pities توجعthe anguish الحائرينthe bewildered
يا راحما توجع الحائرين
O One who feeds the birds in His wilderness,
O Sustainer of birds with their fluttering
O One who pities the anguish of the bewildered,
O You who has mercy on the distressed wanderers
ياO منOne الىto سلطانهHis sovereignty المشتكىthe complaint
يا من الى سلطانه المشتكى
وبابهand His door الملجأthe refuge لللائذينfor those seeking shelter
وبابه الملجأ لللائذين
O One to whose sovereignty grievances are brought,
O You whose sovereign authority is complained to
And whose door is the refuge of those seeking shelter,
And whose door is refuge for those seeking protection
ياO منOne تناجيهcommune with Him القلوبthe hearts التيthat
يا من تناجيه القلوب التي
طارتhave flown الىto اعتابهHis thresholds بالحنينwith longing
طارت الى اعتابه بالحنين
O One with whom commune the hearts that
O You whom longing hearts call to
Have flown to His thresholds in longing,
That have flown to Your threshold in yearning
ياO منOne يفيضpours forth العفوforgiveness احسانهHis beneficence
يا من يفيض العفو احسانه
وفضلهand His bounty الهاميpouring down علىupon المذنبينthe sinners
وفضله الهامي على المذنبين
O One whose beneficence pours forth forgiveness,
O You whose overflowing grace and favor
And whose bounty showers down upon sinners,
Rain down on the sinful
ياO منOne تناديهcall upon Him باصنافهاin their varied kinds
يا من تناديه باصنافها
نواطقspeaking beings منamong خلقهHis creation اجمعينall of them
نواطق من خلقه اجمعين
O One whom, in their varied kinds, invoke
O You whom with their diverse voices
All speaking beings among His creation,
All Your creation calls to collectively
بحرمةby the sanctity of القرآنthe Qur'an والمصطفىand the Chosen One
بحرمة القرآن والمصطفى
والانبياءand the prophets الزهرthe radiant والمرسلينand the messengers
والانبياء الزهر والمرسلين
By the sanctity of the Qur'an and the Chosen One,
By the sanctity of the Qur'an and the Chosen One
And the radiant prophets and the messengers,
And the prophets, the blossoms and the messengers
بالسادةby the noble masters الاملاكthe angels والآلand the Household والاصand the Companions (partial word)
بالسادة الاملاك والآل والاص
حابcompletion of 'Companions' ياO رباهmy Lord والتابعينand the Followers
حاب يا رباه والتابعين
By the noble angels, the Household, and the Companions,
By the masters, the angels, the Household and companions, O our Lord
O my Lord, and the Followers,
And the followers
وبعدهمand after them بالسادةby the noble masters الاولياthe saints (partial word)
وبعدهم بالسادة الاوليا

And after them, by the noble saints,

بكل سر خاشع خائف
وكلand every قلبheart قدalready كواهhas seared it الأننينgroaning
وكل قلب قد كواه الأننين
By every humble, fearful inward soul,
With every humble, reverent, fearful innermost secret
And every heart that groaning has seared,
And every heart filled with moaning

في قلب تاج الرسل طه الامين
By all the knowledge from You that You poured
By every knowledge You have poured
Into the heart of the crown of messengers, Taha the Trustworthy,
Into the heart of the seal of messengers, the honest, the trusted
اسبلdrape عليناover us السترthe veil والطفand be gentle بناwith us
اسبل علينا الستر والطف بنا
وردand ward off عناfrom us صولةthe onslaught الظالمينthe oppressors
ورد عنا صولة الظالمين
Drape the veil over us, and be gentle with us,
Rain down veils and kindness upon us
And ward off from us the onslaught of the oppressors,
And turn away the aggressions of the unjust
واضربand strike بسيفwith the sword القهرof subjugation اعدائناour enemies
واضرب بسيف القهر اعدائنا
حتىuntil نراهمwe see them عبرةa warning الناظرينthose looking on
حتى نراهم عبرة الناظرين
And strike our enemies with the sword of subjugation,
And strike with the sword of wrath our enemies
Until we see them as a warning to onlookers,
Until we see them as lessons for onlookers
وخذهمand seize them اخذwith the grasp عزيزof a mighty one كماjust as
وخذهم اخذ عزيز كما
اخذتYou seized قدماlong ago عصبةa band الفاجرينof the wicked
اخذت قدما عصبة الفاجرين
And seize them with the grasp of the Mighty, just as
And seize them with the grip of the Almighty
You seized long ago a band of the wicked,
As you seized the community of the wicked before
واجعلand appoint لناfor us منكfrom You معيناa helper علىagainst
واجعل لنا منك معينا على
نوائبthe calamities الدهرof time فانتfor You المعينare the Helper
نوائب الدهر فانت المعين
And grant us, from You, a helper against
And make for us from Yourself a helper
The calamities of time, for You are the Helper,
Against the calamities of time, for You are the Helper
وحينand when تدعوناYou call us لآجالناto our appointed ends
وحين تدعونا لآجالنا
توفناtake us in death ياO ربناour Lord مؤمنينas believers
توفنا يا ربنا مؤمنين
And when You call us to our appointed ends,
And when You call us to our appointed time
Take us in death, O our Lord, as believers.
Cause us to die, O our Lord, in faith
