O friend, if you seek guidance despite those who
O friend, if you cast aside right guidance
have strayed from the upright, good path,
And stray from the straight and virtuous path
لذseek refuge بالرفاعيin al-Rifa‘i الجليلgreat المننthe favors
لذ بالرفاعي الجليل المنن
انindeed الرفاعيal-Rifa‘i جديرworthy بأنof having
ان الرفاعي جدير بأن
take refuge in al-Rifa‘i, whose favors are great.
Take comfort in the eminent Al-Rifa'i
Indeed, al-Rifa‘i deserves to have
For Al-Rifa'i deserves that
ينسجbe woven بالالماسwith diamonds برهانهhis proof
ينسج بالالماس برهانه
فصولهhis chapters كالزهرlike blossoms فيin حبكهاtheir weaving
فصوله كالزهر في حبكها
his proof woven with diamonds.
His proofs be woven with diamonds
His chapters are like blossoms in their weaving;
His chapters like flowers in their weaving
تبدوappear عقودnecklaces الدرpearls منfrom سلكهاtheir stringing
تبدو عقود الدر من سلكها
وانتand you انif فكرتyou reflected فيon سبكهاtheir casting
وانت ان فكرت في سبكها
pearl necklaces appear from their stringing.
Appear as strands of pearls in their threading
And if you reflect upon their casting,
And if you think on their crafting
آياتهhis signs يعجزis incapable عنof دركهاgrasping them
آياته يعجز عن دركها
فيin ساحةthe arena العرفانmystical knowledge اقرانهhis peers
في ساحة العرفان اقرانه
his signs are beyond the grasp
His signs defy comprehension
of his peers in the arena of mystical knowledge.
