ذنوبي أثقلت ظهري وجلت

وقد بعد المراد عن الوصول

My sins have weighed down my back and grown grievous.

And the goal I seek has grown far beyond reach.

أقول وألتجي مع حسن ظني

لجأت بظل أعتاب الرسول

I say, and seek refuge with hopeful trust:

I have sought refuge in the shade of the Messenger’s thresholds.

بها الآمال والآراب تقضي

وللرحمن عنون الدليل

Through them, hopes and desires are fulfilled,

And the guide has pointed the way to the All-Merciful.
