لقد سارت الركبان تحدو الى الحى

مزودة دوني ولم اتزود

Indeed, the riders have set out, chanting their way toward the encampment,

Provisioned, unlike me, while I have taken no provisions.

ولم ادر ما يبدو بشأني وما الذي

يكون اذا وافى الركائب في غد

And I do not know what will unfold concerning me, or what

Will happen when the riding camels arrive tomorrow.

اجل غير ذنبي لا عليّ ولا معي

فلا البر من طوري ولا الحظ مسعدي

Yes, apart from my sin, nothing is against me or with me;

For righteousness is not my way, nor does fortune aid me.

اكاد اذا اعملت فكري بزلتي

ووزري اناجي الهم من كل مشهد

I nearly—when I turn my thoughts to my lapse

And my burden of sin—commune with sorrow at every scene.

ولست ارى لي للنجاح وسيلة

بحشري سوى حبي لآل محمد

And I see no means of success for myself

At my gathering for judgment, save my love for the family of Muhammad.
