بشيخ العواجز قطب الوجو
دexistence (final fragment) ألوذI seek refuge وأنيand I am دخيلa seeker of protection عليهunder his protection
د ألوذ وأني دخيل عليه
In the shaykh of the helpless, the spiritual pole of existence,
To the chief of the helpless, pole of the universe
I seek refuge, and I am a supplicant under his protection.
I take refuge though I am a beggar at his door
إذاwhen ماemphatic particle دهانيstrikes me زمانa time of الخطوcalamities (first fragment)
إذا ما دهاني زمان الخطو
بcalamities (final fragment) أوجهI direct سرthe secret of فؤاديmy heart إليهtoward him
ب أوجه سر فؤادي إليه
Whenever a time of calamities strikes me,
When the time troubles me with hardship
I turn my heart's secret toward him.
I turn my heart's secret core to him
فعاريso my disgrace عليهupon him وقدand already قدمتI have submitted
فعاري عليه وقد قدمت
عريضةa petition حالthe state of انكساريmy brokenness لديهbefore him
عريضة حال انكساري لديه
So my disgrace rests upon him, and I have submitted
So I bare my soul to him having presented
a petition describing my broken state before him.
