ان يذكر الحسب الكريم مسلسلا
اعمامهمtheir paternal uncles اخوالهمtheir maternal uncles وكذاand such is الحسبancestral honor
اعمامهم اخوالهم وكذا الحسب
If noble ancestral honor is recounted link by link,
If the noble lineage is recounted in order,
Their paternal uncles are their maternal uncles—and such is ancestral honor.
Their uncles, their aunts' husbands, and so the lineage,
لاnot يرفعونthey trace لغيرto other than غابةthe forest مجدهمtheir glory
لا يرفعون لغير غابة مجدهم
نسباa lineage لامfor a mother منfrom عصائبهمtheir clans وابand a father
نسبا لام من عصائبهم واب
They trace to none beyond the forest of their glory
They do not extol, for other than the majesty of their glory,
A lineage for a mother from their clans and a father.
A lineage not from their loins and seminal fluid.
تنجرis drawn along ترفلtrails proudly حينwhen تنظمyou string together قومهمtheir people
تنجر ترفل حين تنظم قومهم
وبهاand upon it عقودnecklaces الدرpearls سلسلةthe chain الذهبgold
وبها عقود الدر سلسلة الذهب
It is drawn along and trails proudly when you string their people together,
It drags, it luxuriates, when their people are arrayed,
And bears necklaces of pearls—the chain of gold.
And with it are strung together pearls, a necklace of gold.
