إنif سامكafflicts you الخطبcalamity يوماًone day والكروبand sorrows دهتstrike
إن سامك الخطب يوماً والكروب دهت
فالجأthen seek refuge ببابat the gate of جنابthe presence of اللَهGod وانتبهand take heed
فالجأ بباب جناب اللَه وانتبه
If calamity afflicts you one day and sorrows strike,
When one day your troubles overwhelmed you and disaster struck
Then seek refuge at the gate of God's presence, and take heed.
Seek refuge at God's door and beware
ولذand seek shelter بأعتابat the thresholds of شمسthe sun of المرسلينthe messengers وقلand say
ولذ بأعتاب شمس المرسلين وقل
ياO أكرمnoblest of الخلقcreation ماليI have no منone whom ألوذبهI seek refuge with
يا أكرم الخلق مالي من ألوذبه
And seek shelter at the thresholds of the sun of the messengers, and say:
And cling to the thresholds of the sun of messengers, and say
O noblest of creation, I have no one with whom to seek refuge.
O most generous of mankind, who else can I turn to?
