بدأت ببسم اللَه في مبدأ الأمر

وصليت تعظيماً على الكامل القدر

I started with "In the name of Allah" at the beginning

And I prayed salutations upon the Perfect Power

دخلت بأسماء الاله لبابه

أومل بالأسماء من بابه جبري

I entered with the names of God to His door

I hope for favors through His names, my Lord Granter

أناديه ياللَه جد لي تكرما

وبالفضل يا رحمن كن جابراً كسرى

I call You, O God, bless me with generosity

And with grace, O Most Merciful, be my Healer

رحيم فكن عوني وغوثي وراحمي

ويا مالك ملك فؤادي بالذكر

O Beneficent, so be my helper, my savior, my pardoner

O Possessor, possess my heart with remembrance

وهب لي أيا قدوس فهما مقدسا

سلام فسلمني من الكرب والضر

Grant me, O Most Holy, sacred understanding

O Peace, deliver me from distress and harm

ويا مؤمن اقبضني بفضلك مؤمنا

مهيمن أيدني بذكرك في قبري

O Faithful One, take me with Your grace as a believer

O Guardian, support me with Your mention in my grave

عزيز فعززني إذا ذلني الورى

وبالجبر يا جبار قدني إلى الخير

O Almighty, elevate me when the world debases me

And compel me, O Compeller, towards good

وفي الناس كبر قدري يا متكبر

ويا خالق مل بي بلطف عن الكبر

And let, O Proud, my status be great among people

O Maker, fill me with modesty against arrogance

ويا بارئ برء من العيب مسلكي

مصور فاحفظني وغفار زل وزري

O Originator, clear my path of flaws

O Shaper, protect me, O Forgiver, forgive my burdens

وقهار قهر لي عدوي مدى المدى

ويا رب يا وهاب زدني من الفخر

O Subduer, subdue for me my enemy forever

O Lord, O Giver, increase my pride

ورزاق فارزقني الهداية والتقى

وبالفتح يا فاتح تمم علا قدري

O Sustainer, grant me guidance and piety

And with opening, O Opener, perfect my high rank

عليم فعلمني إلى القرب منهجا

ويا قابض اقبض شدة القبض من صدري

O Knower, teach me the path of nearness

And O Withholder, withhold severity of grasp from my chest

ويا باسط ابسط عناية

ويا خافض اخفض قدر من قصده ضري

O Expander, expand Your care upon me

And O Abaser, lower the position of those against me

ويا رافع ارفعني على الناس بالهدى

معز فزد عزى إلى آخر الدهر

O Exalter, raise me above people with guidance

O Honorer, increase my honor till the end of time

مذل أزل ذلي وشرف مراتبي

سميع فاسمعني خطابك بالسر

O Humiliator, remove my humiliation and elevate my status

O Hearer, so hear my whispered address to You

بصير فبصرني بنفسي وعيبها

ويا حكم احكم لي بغيبك في الستر

O Seer, so see through myself and my flaws

And O Judge, judge in my favor in Your unseen

ويا عدل خذ بالعدل والقهر ظالمي

لطيف بلطف منك جدلى مدى عمري

And O Just, take justice and dominate my wrongers

O Subtle One, with Your subtlety always help me

خبير فشرف فيك إخبار همتي

حليم تولاني بحلمك في أمري

O Expert, grace me to inform You of my worries

O Forbearing, protect me in my matter with Your patience

عظيم غفور فاغفر الذنب والخطا

شكور فقيدني مدى الدهر للشكر

O Tremendous, O Forgiving, forgive sins and mistakes

O Appreciator, tie me to thanking forever

على كبير بل حفيظ لمن دعا

تعقبت حسيب جد لعبدك بالبر

O Preserver, O Guardian, of those who call

O Generous, O Observant, indeed Responder and Vast

كريم رقيب بل مجيب وواسع

حكيم ودود فابل العسر باليسر

O Wise, O Loving One, replace hardship with ease

O Glorious, honor my position and Resurrecter

مجيد فجدلى مقامي وباعث

ففي جودك ابعثني أمينا من المكر

So with Your bounty, resurrect me as secure from deception

O Witness, O Truth, take my drink to the truth

شهيد وحق خذ إلى الحق مشربي

وكيل قوى قوني واكفني شرى

O Trustee, O Strong, strengthen me and protect me from evil

O Accounter, so my sins will not be hidden from You

ومحصي فلن تخفى عليك خطيئتي

حميد فنوري بحمدك في قبري

O Praiseworthy, so enlighten me in my grave with Your praise

O Reviver and Life-giver, so enliven my mind with remembrance

معيد ومحي فاحي بالفكر مهجتي

مميت امتنى ناطق القلب بالذكر

O Causer of Death, I wish my heart's speech in remembrance

And O Ever-Living, O Sustainer, increase my spiritual wisdom,

وويا حي يا قيوم زدني معارفاً

ويا واجد بالوجد فيك اكفني هجري

And O Finder, through fervor in You, suffice me in isolation

O Glorious, honor my authority

ويا ماجد شرف بمجدك مسندي

ويا واحد وحد غرامك في فكري

And O One, make Your love alone capture my thoughts

O Single, O Individual, individualize my intimacy

ويا أحد يا فرد فرد رقايتي

بمعراج حبل الوصل في السهر والجهر

With the ascension rope of connection in vigilance and openly

O Eternal, make my tongue focused on praise

ويا صمد صمد لساني على الثنا

ويا قدر اكشف لي الحجاب عن الأمر

O Powerful, reveal the unseen in the matter

And O All Powerful, and with mightiness, suffice me

ومقتدر كن لي وبالقدرة اكفني

مقدم قدمني بشاني على غيري

O Advancer, advance me in my affair over others

O Delayer, delay the riding of those against me from wishes

مؤخر أخر ركب ضدي عن المنى

ويا أول اختم لي بحسن أنتها عمري

O First, conclude for me with a good ending to my life

O Last, O Evident, O Hidden, O Exalted, raise my pride

ويا آخر يا ظاهر انت باطن

ويا وال يا متعال زد بالعلا فخري

O Affectionate, accept my repentance

And Avenger, of whoever deals with deception

ويا بر يا تواب اقبل لتوبتي

ومنتقم ممن تعامل بالمكر

Pardoner, Merciful, Master of kingship, Majestic

Bestower of bounties, You grant gifts to those reconciled

عفو رؤوف مالك الملك ذو الجلال

والإكرام بالأفضال تتحف من يسري

O Equitable, in everything, O Gatherer,

Rich and Enricher, so enrich me from my poverty

ويا مقسط في كل شيءٍ وجامع

غنى ومغنى فاغنني فيك من فقري

And O Giver, grace me with benevolence and gifts

And O Withholder withhold me from lies and sorcery

ومعطي فجدلي بالكرامة والعطا

ويا مانع امنعني عن الكذب والسحر

And O Harmful One, do not let Your harm touch my humiliation

And O Benefitor benefit me, and O Light, be my pride

ويا ضار لا تطرق بضرك ذلتي

ويا نافع انفعني ويا نور كن فخري

And O Guide, increase guidance to elevate me

O Originator, show me the most wondrous mysteries

وهادي فزدني بالهداية رفعةً

بديع فاطلعني على أبدع السر

O Everlasting, keep me connected to You forever

O Inheritor, let me inherit arrival as You know

وباقي فابقيني بوصلك باقياً

ووارث ورثني الوصول كما تدري

O Righteous, always guide me with Your guidance

O Patient One, beautify me with patience unto death

رشيد فارشدني برشدك دائماً

صبور فجملني إلى الموت بالصبر

With Your beautiful names, I beseech You in awe

I came with my sin, admitting my lack of excuse

بأسمائك الحسنى أناجيك خائفاً

وجئت بذنبي والتجرد من عذري

So pardon, favor, forgive my sins and restore me to health

And complete my spiritual ranks in private and openly

فسامح وجد واغفر ذنوبي وعافني

وكمل مقاماتي بسرى وفي جهري

And take me as believing in death as its witness

To Your oneness, O Knower of secrets

وخذني على الإيمان بالموت شاهداً

لذاتك بالتوحيد يا عالماً سرى

And my family, brothers, mother and father

And my shaykh in the manners of the Sufi path

وأهلي وإخواني وأمي ووالدي

وشيخي بآداب الطريقة والمقري

And adorn my heart with providence, and protect me

Through Your bounty, from enemies and those against me

وجمل فؤادي بالعناية واكفني

بفضلك أعدائي ومن قام في ضري

And take my envy, and elevate me through might

And increase pride of this life and the next between fate’s hands

وخذ حسدي وارفع بعزك رتبتي

وزد في غنا الدارين بين الملا قدري

And perfect my pride, and please my shaykhs

And join me to serving the Master of secrets

وتمم على الفخر وارض مشايخي

علي وقيدني لخدمة ذي السر

And bless the chosen one from creation’s essence

Mohammad, sent to servants and free

وصل على المختار من جوهر الورى

محمد المبعوث للعبد والحر

And favor his companions and progeny, especially

His friend through all states, Abu Bakr

وجد بالرضى للصحب والآل سيما

لصديقه في كل حال أبى بكر

Then Omar al-Farooq, Othman after him

And the sought one in predicaments, Ali

كذا عمر الفاروق عثمان بعده

وحيدرة المطلوب في معضل الأمر

Then the six masters of the light of their secret

Its reality rising over the sparkling stars

كذا الستة السادات من نور سرهم

حقيقته تعلو على الأنجم الزهر

And the Prophet's two grandsons, meaning their Husseins

Then Hassan described with knowledge and gratitude

وسبطي رسول اللَه أعنى حسينهم

كذا الحسن الموصوف بالعلم والشكر

And their mother and followers of their party

To the end of days, by land and sea

وأمهما والتابعين لحزبهم

إلى منتهى الأيام في البر والبحر

Especially for my shaykhs of the Sufi path

The people of the great spiritual witnessing and secret

خصوصاً لأصحاب الطريق شيوخنا

أولى العلم أهل الإطلاع على السر

My master Siadna, the crown of inspiration

Refuge of all, Shaykh of Sufi paths combined

كسيدنوا بل شيخ أهل طريقنا

جناب الرفاعي تاج من هام بالذكر

Leader men of God in the secret assemblage

Lamp of wayfarers’ hearts, the unambiguous

ملاذ الورى شيخ الطرئق كلها

أمام رجال اللَه في جمعة السر

Rescuer from the stroke of doubt and betrayal

My father of two knowledges, help of the valiant

سراج قلوب السالكين بلا مرا

ومنقذهم من صرعة الشك والغدر

Braver than any of the people of way and reflection

And my master Sayyid the Fisherman, master of his time

أبى العلمين الغوث اشجع من مشى

على الأرض من أهل الطريقة والفكر

And Shaykh Siraj al-Deen, by whose love is my pride

And the group of al-Rawi and their nephews

وسيدنا الصياد أستاذ عصره

وشيخي سراج الدين من حبه فخري

And my master Khair Allah, who established goodness

And all the people of Ibn al-Rifa’ah’s way altogether

وطائفة الراوي وأبناء عمهم

ومولاي خير اللَه من قام بالخير

In the cycle of the spheres, cycle after cycle

And protectors al-Qadiri and al-Ahmadi of the world

وأهل طريق ابن الرفاعي جميعهم

بمنقلب الأفلاك دوراً على دور

And al-Dasuqi and the patient saints too

And al-Shadhili and al-Naqshbandi, and whoever walked

وللقادري والأحمدي حمى الورى

كذاك الدسوقي والكرام ذووا الصبر

Their path in the prophetic way with travel

And for the people passionate in Your love, my master

وللشاذلي والنقشبندي ومن مشى

بسلكهما في منهج الشرع بالسير

Grant them mercy always flowing from You

And our Sultan, help of cities, reward him

وللقوم من هاموا بحبك سيدي

تكرم عليهم منك في رحمة تجري

For keeping this religion with might and victory

And aid him with kingdoms and help his soldiers

وسلطاننا غوث البلاد فجازه

على حفظ هذا الدين بالعز والنصر

Against the party of Satan, and guard him with secrets

And direct him by the Quran and grant him awe

وأيده بالأملاك وانصر جنوده

على فرقة الشيطان واحفظه بالسر

With which he will subjugate all the kingdoms with coercion

And grant him success in every situation

وتوجه بالقرآن وارزقه هيبةً

يذل بها كل الممالك بالقهر

And guide him in the ways of Sacred Law with authority

And give the Muslims security in his shade

ووفق له التوفيق في كل حالةٍ

وسلكه في سبل الشريعة بالأمر

With good living by protection and goodness

And improve all people's affairs properly by timing

وأمن بني الإسلام ربي بظله

بحسن معاش بالصيانة والخير

And show him enduring triumph with might till the Gathering

And incline all the Muslims to follow our path

وحسن أمور الخلق طرا بوقته

وأبد له العقبى بعز إلى الحشر

With the wisdom of mature guidance awakened from intoxication

And guide us and all believers to piety

وميل جميع المسلمين لسيرنا

بحكمة رشد منك تصحى من السكر

By the cord of gentle authority, praise and thanks

And prepare safety for us with good, protect us

وقدنا وباقي المؤمنين إلى التقى

بحبل زمام العطف بالحمد والسكر

From the changing of time with sorrow and evil

With Your beautiful names, Abu al-Huda called You

وهيئ لنا الأمان بالخير واكفنا

صروف زمان جاء بالغم والشر

And translated them into poetry with verse

And by Allah’s praise, he concluded the composition

بأسمائك الحسنى دعاك أبو الهدى

وترجمها ضمن القصيدة بالشعر

At its end, “I seek Allah’s forgiveness from my burden”

So O Lord accept it, for I started

وقال بحمد اللَه للنظم خاتما

على ختمها استغفر اللَه من وزري

With “In the name of Allah” at the beginning

فيارب خذها بالقبول لأنني
