A spacious sanctuary, in his presence and his self-loss.
بكthrough you حاضرpresent فيin بعدهhis distance وبقربهand in his nearness
بك حاضر في بعده وبقربه
ياO ابنson of الرفاعيal-Rifa‘i الذيwhom حفلتshowed regard بهfor him
يا ابن الرفاعي الذي حفلت به
Through you he is present, in his distance and his nearness.
O son of al-Rifa‘i, celebrated by
للعارفينfor the gnostics نواظرeyes وبصائرand inward perceptions
للعارفين نواظر وبصائر
هذيthese المكارمnoble virtues فيin رحابكyour courts غرسهاtheir planting
هذي المكارم في رحابك غرسها
The eyes and inward sight of the gnostics.
These noble virtues are planted in your courts.
وقلوبand the hearts of اهلthe people of الحالthe spiritual state مدحكpraising you انسهاtheir solace
وقلوب اهل الحال مدحك انسها
هوhe انتyou فيamong اهلthe people of الولايةsainthood شمسهاits sun
هو انت في اهل الولاية شمسها
And the hearts of those in spiritual states find solace in praising you.
It is you who are sainthood's sun among its people.
الناسthe people هاشمHashim والجافرand al-Jafir رأسهاtheir head
الناس هاشم والجافر رأسها
وأبوكand your father مقلتهاtheir eyeball وانتand you الناظرthe pupil
وأبوك مقلتها وانت الناظر
The people are Hashim, and al-Jafir is their head.
And your father is their eye, and you are the pupil.
