شيخ اهل البيت ذو القدر العلي

نور عيني اسد الله علي

Master of the Household, of exalted rank,

Light of my eye, the Lion of God, Ali.

ثاني الخمسة اصحاب العبا

صهر طه مقتدى كل ولي

Second of the Five, the Companions of the Cloak,

Taha's son-in-law, the exemplar of every saint.

قام بدرا في سماوات العلا

فيه يجلى نور خير الرسل

He rose as a full moon in the heavens of exaltation;

In him the light of the best of messengers is revealed.

هاشمي رب عزم فاتك

جربت همته للامل

A Hashimite, possessed of deadly resolve,

His high resolve has proved itself to the hopeful.

كم وكم مزق صفا في الوغى

وسقى الابطال راح الاجل

Time and again he tore apart a battle line in combat,

And gave the champions the wine of death to drink.

اسد نبصر آساد الشرى

ينما يبرز صرعى الوجل

A lion—we see the lions of al-Shara

Felled by dread when he comes forth.

والدالسبطين ذو الفضل الذي

فيه نص الذكر للناس تلي

Father of the two grandsons, the virtuous one concerning whom

The text of the Remembrance was recited to the people.

علم الآل وصنو المصطفى

روح ترياق السقام المعضل

Banner of the Family and counterpart of the Chosen One,

A spirit, the antidote to intractable illness.

حبه راحي وروحي ابدا

راس مالي حين يبدو عملي

Love for him is my wine and my soul forever,

My capital when my deeds are revealed.

كم وكم حاضرته في ثقل

فكفاني الله هم الثقل

Time and again I communed with him while burdened,

So God spared me the burden's distress.

انا ان اعتم ذنبي ناظري

نور عيني اسد الله علي

As for me, if my sin darkens my sight,

The light of my eye is the Lion of God, Ali.
