Our minds have encompassed all affairs within them,

And incline us toward none but the Arabs.

وكل صنف حفظنا حق حرمته

وكل صنف حفظنا حق حرمته

فحرمة النوع حكم الدين والادب

فحرمة النوع حكم الدين والادب

And for every group, we have upheld its due respect;

For respecting humankind is enjoined by religion and good manners.

والميل في الطبع شيء يستحث به

والميل في الطبع شيء يستحث به

ركون قلب الفتى أو الحمة النسب

ركون قلب الفتى أو الحمة النسب

And inclination is something innate, through which is stirred

A young man's heart's attachment, or the bond of lineage.
