Sol 6.1

  1. لذ بباب الغوث الجليل الرفاعي

    ولك الأمن من ملم الدواعي

    Seek refuge at the gate of the illustrious Succor, al-Rifa'i.

    And yours is safety from the onslaught of pressing demands.

  2. وتململ برحبه فحماه

    حرم الوصل قاطع الانقطاع

    And writhe in his spacious court, for his sanctuary

    is the sacred precinct of union, ending separation.

  3. وهو فرد الرجال قطب صدور ال

    أولياء العظام عالي المساعي

    And he is peerless among men, the spiritual pole of the foremost

    of the great saints, lofty in endeavor.

  4. علم العارفين شيخ البرايا

    منجد الملتجي طويل الباع

    The banner of the gnostics, the master of all creatures,

    the rescuer of the refuge-seeker, long of reach.

  5. أسد بأس سره وتجلي

    ه بعزم أذل دهم السباع

    A lion of valor in his inward mystery and manifestation,

    with resolve he humbled the dark beasts of prey.

  6. وبحسن الخضوع والذل للَ

    ه أعز الأحباب في كل قاع

    And through noble submission and humility before

    God, he exalted his beloved ones on every plain.

  7. ورث المصطفى أباه بخلق

    وكمال عالٍ وخير اتباع

    He was heir to al-Mustafa, his forefather, in character

    and lofty perfection, and the finest emulation.

  8. فهدى الناس للمهيمن حتى

    عظمت فيه رتبة الأتباع

    Thus he guided people to the All-Watchful, until

    the followers' rank grew great through him.

  9. وسرى نفع فضله بين كل ال

    خلق كالشمس غند نشر الشعاع

    And the benefit of his grace spread among all

    creation, like the sun when it spreads its rays.

  10. أظهرت فيه حكمة اللَه شأن ال

    قرب في طي عالم الإبداع

    In him, God's wisdom revealed the stature of

    nearness within the folds of the realm of creation.

  11. وانجلى في حضائر المدد العا

    لي وليا من عهد آن الرضاع

    And he shone forth in the precincts of exalted succor,

    a saint since the time of suckling.

  12. وجلا ظلمة الضلال برشد

    جاذب بالهدى غلاظ الطباع

    And he dispelled the darkness of error with right guidance,

    drawing the coarse-natured through guidance.

  13. فهو في العارفين كعبة بيت ال

    وصل محراب جامع الانتفاع

    Thus, among the gnostics he is the Kaaba of the house of

    union, the prayer niche of the mosque of benefit.

  14. وإمام للسالكين وشيخ

    لذمام المريد خير مراعي

    And an imam for wayfarers, and a spiritual master,

    the finest guardian of the disciple's covenant.

  15. أخمد النار بالكرامة والعز

    م وأخفى آثار سم الأفاعي

    He quenched fire through saintly miracle and resolve,

    and made the effects of vipers' venom vanish.

  16. وطغى بحر فضله فهو بحر

    علوى وماله من شراع

    And the sea of his grace overflowed; he is a sea

    lofty, with no sail.

  17. وهو كنز تضمن العلم والعر

    فان خلقاً وطال بالارتفاع

    And he is a treasure containing knowledge and

    gnosis by nature, towering in exaltation.

  18. وأزال الأرصاد عن مضمرات السر

    ر جهراً بالكشف والإطلاع

    And he lifted the wards from the hidden depths of the inner secret,

    openly, through unveiling and insight.

  19. مرشد جاب عن مرايا قلوب السا

    لكين العمى بغير نزاع

    A guide who cleared the mirrors of the wayfarers' hearts

    of blindness, without dispute.

  20. رضى اللَه عنه إذ ذاك فحل ال

    قوم مقدامهم بيوم القراع

    May God be pleased with him, for that man is the champion of

    the people, their bold leader on the day of combat.

  21. وإمام الأفراد في كل باب

    ورحاب وعين أهل السماع

    And imam of the peerless in every doorway

    and spacious court, foremost among the people of spiritual audition.

  22. وسليل النبي لاثم كف ال

    مصطفى الهاشمي بالإجماع

    And a scion of the Prophet, who kissed the hand of

    al-Mustafa al-Hashimi, as all agree.

  23. بطل في عريكة الحرب كم جن

    دل شهماً وكم رمى من شجاع

    A hero in the thick of war—how often he felled

    a gallant man, and how many brave men he struck!

  24. وكراماته الشريفة تتلى

    بلسان الثنا على الأسماع

    And his noble saintly miracles are recited

    with the tongue of praise to listening ears.

  25. نشر الهدى في بطاح عراق

    فروى نشره جميع البقاع

    He spread guidance across the broad plains of Iraq,

    so his spreading of it watered every land.

  26. ودعاه المولى له بلسان ال

    فضل قدماً فصار أعظم داعي

    And the Lord called him to Himself with the tongue of

    grace from of old, so he became the greatest caller.

  27. قدس اللَه سره كم له من

    همم جربت لكشف القناع

    May God sanctify his secret! How many are his

    spiritual resolves, tested in lifting the veil!

  28. ويد بالتصرف الأزلي إن

    صدمت زلزلت متين القلاع

    And a hand wielding pre-eternal power to act—if

    it strikes, it shakes solid fortresses.

  29. ولكم من مواهب منه سحت

    فأطالت شأوي قصير الذراع

    And how many gifts have poured forth from him,

    thus extending my reach, short of arm as I am.

  30. وله دولة تكرم فيها اللَه قا

    مت به مع الاختراع

    And his is a dominion in which God bestowed grace,

    which arose through him alongside creation.

  31. هو للمصطفى وسيلتي العظ

    مى وذخري لصدمة الإزماع

    He is my greatest means of approach to al-Mustafa,

    and my treasure against the shock of firm resolve.

  32. وملاذي وملجئي ونصيري

    ومغيثي ومنقذي من ضياعي

    And my refuge, my shelter, and my champion,

    and my rescuer and deliverer from my ruin.

  33. فعليه الرضى من اللَه ما صل

    لى مصل وطاف بالبيت ساعي

    So may God's pleasure rest upon him as long as

    a worshipper prays and a pilgrim circles the House.

  34. وعلى حزبه الأكارم أهل اللَ

    ه أهل الإحسان والاصطناع

    And upon his noble company, the people of

    God, people of spiritual excellence and gracious favor,

  35. ما تغنى الحادي وقال محب

    لذبباب الغوث الجليل الرفاعي

    as long as the camel-driver sings and a lover says:

    Seek refuge at the gate of the illustrious Succor, al-Rifa'i.
