هذا كتاب منزل وزبور

فيه طروس إشارةٍ وسطور

This is a revealed book and a psalter.

In it are pages of allusion and lines of writing,

في آل عثمان الملوك بأنهم

خصوا بإرث الأرض وهو شهير

Concerning the kings of the House of Osman: that they

Were singled out to inherit the earth, and this is well known.

وهم العباد الصالحون كما أتى

في قول محي الدين وهو خبير

They are the righteous servants, as has been stated

In the words of Muhyi al-Din, who is well informed.

ورثوا الكتاب بقوة عملاً به

كل على نهج الصواب يسير

They inherited the Book with strength, acting upon it;

Each walks the path of what is right.

والدين والشرع المطهر عندهم

ما فيه صدع يبتغي وفطور

With them, religion and the purified sacred law

Have no breach to seek, nor any fissure.

ولنصرة الإسلام شدوا أزرهم

فلهم على كل الملوك ظهور

And to champion Islam, they girded their loins;

Thus they hold ascendancy over all kings.

ولزمرة العلماء في سلطانهم

شأن له التعظيم والتوقير

And the company of scholars under their rule

Has a standing accorded veneration and respect.

وتوارثوا هذا التوارث كابرا

عن كابر فحسامهم مشهور

And they inherited this legacy, one noble heir

From another; their sword is unsheathed

من كل ذمر في العرمرم صائل

مثل العقاب جناحه منشور

By every valiant warrior charging in the mighty host,

Like an eagle with its wing outspread.

يعتاد قنص الأسد في وثباته

درب بأحوال النزال خبير

He is accustomed to hunting lions in his leaps,

Seasoned and expert in the ways of combat.

حتى أتى ملك الملوك أمامنا

عبد الحميد الظافر المنصور

Until the king of kings came before us:

Abd al-Hamid, triumphant and victorious.

ورث الخلافة بانعقاد البيعة ال

غرا بها التهليل المنصور

He inherited the caliphate through the ratified pledge of allegiance—

Splendid, with triumphant proclamations of God's oneness.

وزهى به الكرسي وهو معظم

وبه تفاخر منبر وسرير

And the throne shone through him, revered as it is;

And pulpit and royal seat took pride in him.

والملة السمحاء ملة أحمد ال

مختار بشر عمها وسرور

And the gracious faith, the faith of Ahmad the

Chosen One—gladness and joy pervaded it.

والكعبة الغرا وزمزم والصفا

والبيت حتى زائر ومزور

And the splendid Kaaba, Zamzam, and al-Safa,

And the House—even visitor and visited alike—

والجو والأقطار والاكتشاف وال

بر الفسيح وبحرها المسجور

And the sky, the regions, discovery, and the

Wide land and its brimming sea,

بلسان حال للخليفة كلها

يدعو وكل حامد وشكور

All, through the language of their state, for the caliph

Offer prayers; each praises and gives thanks.

كل غدا يسعى على مرضاته

سعى الخلوص وسعيه مشكور

Each has come to strive for his approval,

With sincere striving, and his effort is appreciated.

ملك تطيلس بالعدالة والتقى

والحلم فهو موفق وصبور

A king who cloaked himself in justice and piety

And forbearance; thus he is favored with success and patient.

قل للشقي الخارجي تعاندا

عن طاعة الخلفاء ليس يحور

Say to the wretched rebel who, out of obstinacy,

Forsakes obedience to the caliphs and will not return:

أبدى العناد وقام بقصد حربه

ومع الفساد أتاه وهو جسور

He displayed defiance and rose intending to fight him,

And boldly came against him, bringing corruption.

يا غافلاً عن أصل حكمة شانه

ذا شبل آل بيتهم معمور

O you heedless of the wisdom underlying his station,

This is a lion-cub of a family whose house flourishes.

ومحقق أن الخلافة فيهم

حتى المعاد ويوم ينفخ صور

And it is established that the caliphate belongs to them

Until the Resurrection and the day the Trumpet is blown.

والسيد البستي صحح ذا وفى

ميزانه خبر أتى مشهور

And Sayyid al-Busti authenticated this; in

His assessment, a well-known report appeared:

في آل عثمان الأعاظم أنهم

أهل الحجى وعدوهم مكسور

Concerning the mighty House of Osman: that they

Are people of wisdom, and their enemy is crushed.

ومن امتطى ظهر الخلاف لأمرهم

لازال وهو منكد مقهور

And whoever mounts the back of defiance against their command—

May he remain afflicted and subdued.

وعناية شملت لكل موحد

عطفاً وبأس في الأمور شهير

And care embraced every believer in God's oneness,

With compassion; and his might in affairs is renowned.

فتح به عم الأنام ونعمة

مذ جاء جاءت والسرور كبير

Through him, victory spread among humankind, and a blessing

Came from the moment he came, and joy was great.

والنصر في كل الحروب يحفه

واللَه للعبد التقي نصير

And victory surrounds him in every war,

And God is a helper to the pious servant.

مهلاً أمير المؤمنين فطب وكن

قرحاً فربك في الأمور قدير

Be at ease, Commander of the Faithful; be content and be

Joyful [apparently intended], for your Lord has power over all affairs.

خذ أنت بشرى عاجز مقصدوه

من مدحه وقصيده التبشير

Accept glad tidings from a helpless man whose aim

In his praise and his poem is to herald good news:

فتح بإقليد العناية فاتح

باب المسرة والنصير ظهير

A victory, opening with the key of providence

The door of gladness; and the helper lends support.

لا بد من فتح قريب عاج

يطوى به من ربنا التدبير

A near, swift victory is inevitable,

Through it, our Lord's design is brought to completion.

ويقوم كل المسلمين لربهم

بالشكر وهو الواهب المشكور

And all Muslims will rise for their Lord,

In thanksgiving; He is the Giver, the One thanked.

ويقول داعي الحال منهم جهرةً

قد لاح من بطن الأمور أمور

And the herald of their condition, from among them, will say aloud:

From the belly of affairs, matters have come to light.

فالحمد للَه الذي قد أذهب ال

أحزان عنا أنه لغفور

So praise be to God, who has removed the

Sorrows from us; indeed, He is most forgiving.
