لأعتاب غوث الشرق صاحب بصرة ال

عراق الرفاعي جئت ألوي مطيتي

عراق الرفاعي جئت ألوي مطيتي

To the thresholds of the Succor of the East, lord of Basra in

To the thresholds of the East’s Succor, master of Basra in

Iraq—the Rifa‘i—I came, turning my mount his way.

Iraq, al-Rifa‘i, I came, steering my mount.

وحسبي به شيخاً معيناً وناصراً

وحسبي به شيخاً معيناً وناصراً

ضميناً وبابا للمراقي العلية

ضميناً وبابا للمراقي العلية

He suffices me as a shaykh, a helper and a champion,

And he suffices me as a spiritual master, helper and supporter,

A guarantor and a gateway to the loftiest ascents,

A guarantor and a gate to the lofty ranks,

وركناً إذا ضاق الخناق ومنجداً

وركناً إذا ضاق الخناق ومنجداً

وذخراً ومفتاحاً لكل مزية

وذخراً ومفتاحاً لكل مزية

A pillar when the noose draws tight, and a rescuer,

And a pillar when the noose tightens, and a rescuer,

A treasure and a key to every excellence,

And a treasure and a key to every excellence,

وواسطة للمصطفى ووسيلةً

وواسطة للمصطفى ووسيلةً

لنيل أيادي الحضرة الأحمديه

لنيل أيادي الحضرة الأحمديه

An intermediary to the Chosen One, and a means

And an intermediary to al-Mustafa, and a means

Of attaining the favors of the Presence of Ahmad,

To attain the favors of Ahmad’s presence;

وسلم قرب شامخ الشان موصلاً

وسلم قرب شامخ الشان موصلاً

لعترة طه العترة النبوية

لعترة طه العترة النبوية

And a ladder of nearness, exalted in rank, leading

And a ladder of nearness, exalted in standing, leading

To Taha’s progeny, the Prophetic progeny.

To Ta-Ha’s family, the prophetic family.

به وبهم أرجو النجاة مدى المدى

به وبهم أرجو النجاة مدى المدى

وأرجو أعاناتي بكل قضيه

وأرجو أعاناتي بكل قضيه

Through him and through them I hope for salvation forever,

Through him and through them I hope for salvation for all time,

And I hope to receive aid in every affair.

And I hope to be aided in every matter.

فهم عمدة الراجي وهم ملجأ الورى

فهم عمدة الراجي وهم ملجأ الورى

وهم في العمى إشراق عين البرية

وهم في العمى إشراق عين البرية

For they are the hopeful seeker’s mainstay and creation’s refuge,

For they are the mainstay of the hopeful, and they are humankind’s refuge,

And amid blindness, they are the radiance of creation’s eye.

And amid blindness, they are the radiance of creation’s eye.
